FREQUENTLY ASKED

QUESTIONS

Q: WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

A: Baltimore City. You will recieve the precise location in the confirmation email after booking.

Q: ARE YOU IN A SHOP?

A: I operate from a private studio, but I guest-spot often at some local tattoo shops throughout Baltimore City and travel to tattoo conventions with the Ladies Of Ink tour group. I DO NOT TAKE WALK-INS...APPOINTMENTS ONLY.

Q: HOW DO YOU PREFER TO BE CONTACTED?

A: The best and fasted way to reach me is via my email address: blvqwulph@gmail.com or directly through this website. There is a phone number, but you will most likely be forwarded to voicemail where you are free to leave a message, especially if you call during my working hours (between 11am-8pm). Text messages sent to the number posted will be answered by an automated response, directing you to this page. DMs (direct messages) sent to social media pages will not be read/responded to.

Q: WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT FOR GETTING A TATTOO?

A: You must be at least 18 years of age to receive a tattoo. If you are 16-17 years of age, you must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to receive a tattoo. All parties must fill out and sign a tattoo consent form and provide identification before their tattoo session begins.

Q: DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?

A: Yes. We will discuss the design, placement, and approximate time for completion of your new tattoo, as well as the best ways to prepare for your session and how to go about proper aftercare.

Q: DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

A: Yes. The deposit is $300 ($200 for "virgins") and is deducted from the total cost of the tattoo session, which is determined during the consultation. It also pays for your design process and "locks" in your timeslot so that no one else can book that time.

Q: HOW DO I BOOK?

A: Click BOOKING on the Navigation Menu at the top of your screen (top right if viewing the mobile site). Choose "BASIC CONSULTATION", "COVER-UP CONSULTATION", or  "VIRGIN SKIN CONSULTATION", making sure to read the description of each option to insure you pick the correct service. Choose the date and time available, enter any information required, and pay the deposit fee with either your credit/debit card or PayPal. Once booking is complete, you'll receive a confirmation email with the date, time and location for your tattoo session. It's also smart to set a reminder/alarm for your appointment if the system doesn't do it for you (which it should).

Q: HOW DOES THE "BASIC CONSULTATION" WORK?

A: We will discuss the design, placement, and approximate time for completion of your new tattoo, as well as the best ways to prepare for your session and how to go about aftercare. I will take some time to create a CUSTOM design and the client will be scheduled another date for  its completion.

Q: HOW DOES THE "COVER-UP CONSULTATION" WORK?

A: This service is for consultations ONLY, during which we will discuss the tattoo in need of covering and possible design options. I will take some time to create a design and the client will be scheduled another date for completion.

Q: HOW DOES THE "VIRGIN SKIN CONSULTATION" WORK?

A: THIS SERVICE IS A CONSULTATION AND IS ONLY FOR CLIENTS WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN TATTOOED....NEVER EVER IN LIFE. YOUR SKIN IS NAKED. We will discuss the design, placement, and approximate time for completion of your new tattoo, as well as the best ways to prepare for your session and how to go about aftercare. *NOTE: if you book this consultation and you already have tattoo, I will not service you. You would be preventing someone who actually needs this service from booking it.

Q: WHAT KINDS OF TATTOOS DO YOU PREFER TO DO?

A: I try not to box myself into any one style...I can pretty much take on any concept with which I am presented, but my favorite types of tattoos to do are anything with bright, vibrant colors, 80s & 90s nostalgia, Black Empowerment, anime, and animals.

Q: WHAT IS A COLOR-TEST?

A: A color test is a small, subtle tattoo with various colors, usually the full spectrum, meant to determine which colors will show up best on the skin after healing. It also helps the artist determine which colors need to be enhanced with other colors to maximize vibrancy, or which colors should be left out altogether. This way, if we proceed with a larger tattoo, we'll already know the color palette and understand how it will work with the skin. This is also helpful to see how the skin may react if the client is sensitive or has allergies.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR AVAILABILITY?

A: Currently, my business hours for tattooing are from 11:00AM to 8:00PM, Fridays and Saturdays. You can view my exact availability on the booking page when you're prompted to choose a date/time for your service.

Q: WHAT DOES "BOOKS CLOSED/OPEN" MEAN?

A: "Books Closed" means that all of my available booking dates are full and I am unable to take new clients or bookings until my calendar has cleared for the next booking opening. "Books Open" means I am accepting new clients and bookings. The time between closings and openings can vary.

Q: HOW LONG WILL MY TATTOO TAKE?

A: Time depends on the size and detail of the tattoo, where it's located on the body, and how well you're able to sit for its completion. All of these things are determined during the consultation.

Q: DO YOU OFFER NUMBING CREAM?

A: It is suggested that you purchase and use your own numbing cream, this way it can be applied well before your session and will have enough time to take effect (between 1 and 3 hours depending on the brand), however it is available upon request. In such cases when it's needed, it would be applied after the linework portion of the tattoo is completed (before shading/coloring the tattoo).

Q: CAN I SEE A SKETCH OF MY TATTOO DESIGN?

A: Yes, during the consultation, the artist will take notes of size, placement, and what the client wants to include in their tattoo. The artist will also take photos of the area where the tattoo will go, and create an original design for the client to review before their session.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR PRICING LIKE?

A: Deposits are $300 for Basic and Cover-Up Consultations, and $200 for Virgin Skin Consultations. There is an hourly rate of $300 from which the deposit is deducted.

Q: IS THERE A CANCELLATION POLICY?

A: All deposits are final. There are NO REFUNDS for deposits. If you are late or do not show up for your session, your deposit is forfeited. You can reschedule only ONCE. If you cancel your appointment or reschedule more than once, you will lose your deposit. If you are running late or need to reschedule, please alert me via call/text (410)622-7155 or email blvqwulph@gmail.com.

Q: CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

A: Clients are permitted one companion at a time. No children are allowed in the studio.

Q: DO YOU DO PARTIES?

A: I DO NOT DO TATTOO PARTIES.

Q: HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY TATTOO SESSION?

A: Get plenty of rest, eat a well-balanced meal and drink lots of water before your tattoo. Do not be hungover, or recovering from serious injuries. Wear clothing what will not interfere with your tattoo or the application process. Practice proper hygiene before your session. Bring snacks, ear buds, phone charger, etc. to make your session more comfortable.

Q: HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW TATTOO?

A: Upon completion of your session, your tattoo will be covered with a clear film called "Saniderm". Saniderm is breathable, waterproof, and assists in the healing process. It can be worn for 6-7 days. After film removal, gently hand-wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap, rinse it well, blot and air-dry, and apply a thin layer of "LunaSol Beauty's BLVQ BUTTA All-Natural Tattoo Balm". (Try to avoid aftercare products that contain petroleum jelly.) If the tattoo peels, do not pick at it; allow it to come off naturally. If it itches, rub gently with some tattoo balm. DO NOT SCRATCH OR SCRUB. Most tattoos typically take about 1-2 months to fully heal, so continue to wash at least once a day and lubricate as needed throughout the healing process.
